caravan palace – rock it for me

Regular readers will know I am a fan of

a. anything animated

b. anything vaguely French electro-dance-pop related.

THIS IS BOTH.

Caravan Palace are, I’m told, up and coming on the electro-swing scene.  Yup, that’s a thing.  In keeping with the French tendency to make absolutely everything better by putting a donk on it, what we have with Caravan Palace is a new line in proper old-skool big band, combined with Mr Oizo. Yup him with the Flat Eric puppet thing (if you’re too young, ask your big brother).

The jewel in the crown, though, is the accompanying video.  A gloriously bonkers take on the 1937 Paris World Fair , this is a tale of what might happen if aliens arrived, only to be met by solid French engineering. And swing dancing.  Also gives an explanation for the light thing on top of the Eiffel Tower, which may be helpful for plane-drivers.
